Cipher Mining Secures $9B HPC Deal with Fluidstack, Expands Texas Data Center Capacity
Cipher Mining Inc. (CIFR) has landed a transformative 10-year colocation agreement with AI cloud platform Fluidstack, valued at up to $9 billion including extensions. The deal adds 39 MW of critical IT load to Cipher's Barber Lake facility in Texas, bringing the site's total capacity to 300 MW entirely leased by Fluidstack.
The base contract guarantees $830 million in revenue over the initial decade, with potential to reach $2 billion if both five-year options are exercised. This strategic partnership accelerates Cipher's position in high-performance computing infrastructure as demand for AI and cloud services surges.
Market observers note the deal's significance for bitcoin mining operators diversifying into HPC. While no direct cryptocurrency link exists, the capital influx could indirectly strengthen Cipher's balance sheet for future blockchain-related ventures.
